What is Zoom?
Zoom Video Communications, Inc. (Zoom) is an American communications technology company headquartered in San Jose, California.
Zoom is a cloud-based video communications app that allows you to set up virtual video and audio conferencing, webinars, live chats, screen-sharing, and other collaborative capabilities.
Do I need an account to access the Zoom session?
You don’t need an account to attend a Zoom meeting, just the personalised link you will receive upon registration.
The platform is compatible with Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android, meaning nearly anyone can access it. The Zoom app can be downloaded through your devices App Store, or via the Zoom website.
For the South Yorkshire Autism Fayre, we will be using Zoom Webinars for each speaker.
What is a Zoom webinar?
A Zoom Webinar is a view-only platform where the attendees cannot see each other, and is typically used for larger scale events and conferences. Webinars are recorded and can then be shared with participants at a later date.
How Do I Join the Session?
Through a Zoom Meeting link provided by the host. All you need to do is click that link, and you’ll be brought to the meeting. You will receive your individualised link on your confirmation email after signing up for the session.
Or you can click “Join” on Zoom’s homepage and enter the Meeting ID manually.
*Please note, the session links are unique. Sharing your information with someone else will make your link invalid and your access to the session will automatically be denied*
